Beautiful Disaster has once again become a global trend, and this is because the author Jamie McGuire and director Roger Kumble (also responsible for directing After We Collided, Cruel Intentions and The Sweetest Thing) have released the sequel to the adaptation, titled Beautiful Wedding.
The cast of the first installment has returned to play their respective roles. Dylan Sprouse (My Fake Boyfriend, Big Daddy and The Duel) and Virginia Gardner (All the Bright Places, Halloween and Project Almanac) star in the story as Travis Maddox and Abby ‘Pigeon’ Abernathy.
This time, the love story will leave California to take place in Mexico. After a wild night in Las Vegas, the young lovers discover that they have gotten married, but not everything is rosy. Despite it all, they head to the Caribbean for their honeymoon with friends and family.
Will Beautiful Disaster have a third film?
Beautiful Wedding, the sequel to the original installment, has just been released. Despite expectations for it to achieve the same success as the previous one, it is estimated that there won’t be a third movie about Abby and Travis. This is because the adaptation was based on Beautiful Disaster and the third book, skipping Walking Disaster.
However, this doesn’t mean that new movies within the same universe cannot be developed. Author Jamie McGuire created an entire saga about the Maddox brothers, so there is still material to explore. Beautiful Oblivion could be brought to the big screen, finally revealing to the world the story of Cami and Trenton.
What is Beautiful Oblivion about?
Beautiful Oblivion is the first book in The Maddox Brothers series. Although it shares the universe of Beautiful Disaster, each book in the series focuses on a different Maddox brother. In this installment, the plot centers around Trenton Maddox, his life and personal relationships, with a focus on his romance with Camille.
The story explores the challenges and complexities of the relationship between the main characters, as well as the secrets and surprises that unfold throughout the plot. Like other books by Jamie McGuire, the narrative blends romance, drama, and unexpected twists to provide a captivating experience for readers.
Here, check out the official plot description belonging to the original book:
Fiercely independent Camille “Cami” Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.
Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.
Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.
As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever — even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.
