Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth have joined forces to carry out the long-awaited prequel to Mad Max, which portrays the origins of one of the most beloved and spectacular characters: Furiosa.

George Miller is back to direct and adapt the script, alongside Nick Lathouris. There are only a few months left to finally discover the new chapter of this story, which arrives almost 10 years after the last installment.

This time, we will see how, as the world falls, the young Furiosa is snatched from the Many Mothers’ Green Place and falls into the hands of a great horde of motorcyclists led by the warlord Dementus.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga already has an official release date and came along with the first look at the highly anticipated movie. The prequel will be available to watch in all theaters on May 24, 2024.

Not only will it be viewable through regular screens, but it will also have its own IMAX experience, allowing franchise fans to enjoy it to the fullest. After several months, its arrival on streaming platforms is also expected.

Who are the cast of Furiosa?

The plot and the origin of the main character are not the only things that stand out in the prequel, but also the number of talents that have joined the cast to bring it to life. Anya Taylor-Joy will be the one to star, in the role of Furiosa.

However, she won’t be the only face to have significant moments on screen; Chris Hemsworth will accompany her as the co-lead, playing the role of Dementus, the villain who will have to face her fury.

Nathan Jones will be back in the franchise to portray Rictus Erectus once again. The last time he was seen in the role was in Mad Max: Fury Road, which starred Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.
