Blake Lively (Gossip Girl and A Simple Favor), Justin Baldoni and Brandon Sklenar (1923 and Emily the Criminal) have teamed up to star in the film adaptation of “It Ends with Us“, based on the novel by Colleen Hoover.
The film follows Lily, who believes she has found true love with Ryle, but after a painful incident, past traumas resurface and she must decide if love alone can save her marriage, even when her first love returns.
The actor playing Ryle, known for his work on Jane the Virgin, not only stars in the film but also directs the project, marking his third title behind the camera. He was previously responsible for the Five Feet Apart in 2019 and Clouds in 2020.
Do Atlas and Lily end up together in ‘It Starts with Us’?
In the first book, although Atlas Corrigan and Lily Bloom have a strong connection and persistent feelings, they do not end up together definitively, as she decides to focus on her daughter and her personal well-being.
However, in the sequel, they finally end up together. “It Starts with Us”, the second novel, explores how they reconnect and deepen their relationship, overcoming past obstacles and building a future together.
Do they end up together in the ‘It Ends with Us’ movie?
Well, until it premieres on the big screen (scheduled for Friday, August 8), it remains a mystery. If the film’s story stays true to the book, Atlas and Lily should not end up together in “It Ends with Us”.
This would leave the door open for the second romantic novel to also have its adaptation, thus confirming the sequel to the film adaptation. So far, the author has not spoken about this but is focusing on her new projects.
