Suger ranked No. 8 series on Apple TV+ US
Colin Farrell brings to life a private detective in Sugar, the new original series from Apple TV+ that has become one of the most-watched in the United States, ranking in the Top 8 among the platform’s top ten.
According to the metrics-specialized site Flix Patrol, the title has won over the hearts of American users within hours, as it has only been a day since its addition to the catalog, where it also outperforms The Morning Show.
At first, it was only known that the story would be “a contemporary version of the private detective story set in Los Angeles”. However, with the arrival of the first season, the story’s premise was revealed.
The official plot follows John Sugar, an outgoing detective who is the opposite of the man who wants to go unnoticed. The episodes unfold in Hollywood and will premiere every Friday starting from April 5th.
The trending TV show is a creation of Mark Protosevich, who is known for being responsible for the movie “I Am Legend” with Will Smith. The cast is quite extensive and stellar, as in addition to Colin, it includes stars like Amy Ryan, Anna Gunn, Massi Furlan and Kirby.
During an interview with El Comercio, the lead actor talked about his character and confessed: “Romance is a longing for connection, for love, for music, for a sunset. Longing to observe the most beautiful things available in this mundane experience we share”.
Also, he expressed how his character has a fundamental quality that constantly sets him apart from the rest. “In that way, I think he’s a romantic. Complex? Yes, he keeps his thoughts to himself. He doesn’t divulge much about his life, history, or origins. We discover that as the series unfolds”, Farrell added.
