After 16 days of competitions, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games came to an end with a dynamic Closing Ceremony, which took place at the Stade de France. The ceremony, as usual, featured well-known artists, such as Zaho de Sagazan, Phoenix, Air and more, as well as artists, dancers and more.

Again produced by Thomas Jolly and Thierry Reboul, the ceremony was titled ‘Records,’ and it was inspired by science-fiction. The ceremony was described as a “dream-like immersive journey through time.”

The performance began with the origins of the Olympic Games, and featured a dystopian future when the Olympics have disappeared and must be reinvented, as well as an incredible Tom Cruise’s stunt. Of course, that also left moments for fun and jokes on the Internet. Here’s what social media got to say.

Paris 2024 Closing Ceremony: The “golden” voyager was the highlight of the jokes

The stadium went dark, creating a scene like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie. Then, the futuristic set began to light up on and off. Jolly imagined a future where the Olympic Games had vanished, only to be brought back by a Golden Voyager.

Wearing a sparkling costume, the voyager came down from the top of the stadium and performed acrobatic moves. Meanwhile, two mysterious figures attached the Greek flag to a pole and waved it. Soon, a group of acrobats joined the voyager, descending from the sky and building the Olympic rings in the stadium.

While the idea is very solemn, the Internet quickly compared the Golden Voyager to… Well, everything. From an “ant” to “a Power Ranger”. Here are some of the best memes of the event:
