Maxton Hall is the new addition to Prime Video that has not only been captivating users but is also one of the platform’s new romantic bets for young adults, with a style similar to the movie My Fault.

The drama consists of a season of six episodes, which have been led by various talents from Germany. The main characters are portrayed by Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung.

As is often the case with this type of production, especially those with suspenseful plots and high-voltage scenes, the soundtrack has been one of the most outstanding elements so far.

Variety reported this morning that the show will return with new episodes, and James Farrell, Vice President of International Originals at Amazon MGM Studio, spoke about the impact and success it has had on the platform.

During a conversation with the outlet, the executive said that the program “once again proves that local stories have the power to captivate global audiences”, especially following the success of productions like My Fault.

The story belongs to the Save Me novel series, which consists of three volumes. This means there is still more material to bring to the screen and ample opportunity for exploration.

What are the adaptation books about?

The series of romantic novels (which contain a lot of drama, suspense and mystery) written by Mona Kausten, on which the new Amazon release is based, is composed of three books:

  • Save Me
  • Save You
  • Save Us

In “Save Me” we learn the beginning of the story, which follows Ruby and James, who come from completely opposite worlds. However, the more they get to know each other, the more they realize that they share much more than they had believed.

Spoiler alert!

In “Save You“, Ruby is shattered. After everything they’ve shared, James has betrayed her. Disappointed, she wants nothing to do with him ever again. However, she supports him in a very sad moment, but makes it very clear: she is not willing to forgive him or give him a second chance.

James, pressured by his father who wants him to take over the family business, sees his admission to Oxford as a sentence. For Ruby, though, being accepted into the prestigious university is a dream come true.

In the third and final book of the Save saga, the story portrays a desperate Ruby, who has been suspended from Maxton Hall. Oxford and all the dreams that finally seemed within her reach are threatened by a serious blemish on her academic record.

The worst part, however, is that everything seems to point to James as the sole responsible party. Yet, after a confrontation with him, the two will uncover a terrible truth that surprises them both.

As James tries to clear Ruby’s name at school, he must battle against his father and the fate that has been written for him. The road is steep, and obstacles are always around the corner.
