“The Upshaws“, the TV show created by Regina Y. Hicks and Sykes herself, has been praised for its authenticity in portraying characters and family situations, as well as for its witty humor and solid performances by its cast.

As it happens day by day, Netflix has once again updated its ranking of the most-watched series in the United States, and this morning, the sitcom “The Upshaws” earned a spot on the list, ranking as the third most chosen.
According to Flix Patrol, the specialized site, the title has managed to surpass several significant productions in the American catalog of the platform in record time, such as “The Circle” and “Killing Eve”.
The story follows the Upshaw family, particularly focused on Bennie Upshaw, a car mechanic from Columbus, Ohio. He is married to Regina and together they have three children and a life full of ups and downs.
Each of the episodes, across the six seasons that the comedy has, explores family dynamics, interpersonal relationships and the everyday struggles of the family as they deal with various issues and comedic situations.
Mike Epps and Kim Fields play the main characters, while Wanda Sykes takes on the role of Lucretia, Bennie Upshaw’s sister. Another important actor is Page Kennedy, who portrays Duck, Bernie’s brother-in-law.
