“White Bird” is a new period drama that serves as a prequel to “Wonder”, focusing on the character of Julian Albans (played by Bryce Gheisar), who was the antagonist in the previous movie.
In this new installment directed by Marc Forster, the story explores the experiences of his grandmother, Grand-mère (played by Helen Mirren), as she recounts her life during the Nazi occupation of France during World War II.

Who composed the score for White Bird?
The score for “White Bird” was composed by the renowned 67-year-old American composer Thomas Newman, known for his work on American Beauty, Finding Nemo, 1917, The Shawshank Redemption and Meet Joe Black.
The soundtrack features original music that captures the essence of the drama, exploring themes of love and sacrifice during World War II, and serves as a complement to the lyrical narrative and powerful performances.
The album was released on October 4, 2024, both in digital and physical formats through Lakeshore Records. In addition to the instrumental music, it includes an original song titled “Little Bird”, written by Newman with lyrics by R.J. Palacio.
