After much speculation, we can finally say that we will be left wondering about who was behind the disguise of the masked figure that appeared throughout the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, carrying the iconic torch.
Initially, there were rumors that Kylian Mbappé, France’s favorite player, might have been chosen. However, at one point, it was also thought that it could be Fantomas, a French character from a series of novels.
Memes quickly surfaced after the sequence involving this mysterious person was linked to the style of the popular video game series Assassin’s Creed. Rafael Nadal has been chosen to pass the torch to other great athletes.

The answer is no! We will remain in the dark about who is behind the mask, as they appeared only to hand the torch to former footballer and coach Zinedine Zidane, who then passed it to Rafael Nadal.
The tennis player, a multiple-time world No. 1, along with sports icon Serena Williams, were responsible for passing the torch to other athletes to light the cauldron that will mark the beginning of the 2024 Olympic Games.
