Ford’s portrayal of Dr. Rhoads, a seasoned therapist dealing with his own Parkinson’s diagnosis and a complicated personal life, has garnered significant praise for its depth, humor, and emotional resonance. Many critics and viewers alike felt he was ignored for the first season of Shrinking, making this long-awaited recognition even more satisfying.

This nomination marks a new and exciting chapter in Ford’s illustrious career, proving that even after decades as a global superstar, there are still new frontiers to conquer. His move to recurring television roles, including his powerful performance in 1923 (which, surprisingly, did not receive an Emmy nod this year), has allowed audiences to see a different side of his talent.
