If your social media feeds have been entirely consumed by hockey romance and intense shipping debates over the last few days, you aren’t alone. The internet’s favorite new new adult drama has officially spilled over into real life, and the details are straight out of a romance novel.

According to reports from Us Weekly and Entertainment Tonight, Off Campus co-stars Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston are officially dating. The major relationship confirmation comes hot on the heels of a whirlwind trip to Paris, where eagle-eyed fans caught the pair looking incredibly cozy, sharing embraces, and essentially soft-launching their romance in the City of Light. The timing of the news has sent the fandom into overdrive, coming less than a month after Abdalla confirmed the end of her long-term engagement to Disney alum Jake Short.

Out with the Old: Breaking Off the Engagement with Jake Short

To understand why fans are reacting so fiercely to this new romance, you have to look back at the beginning of the month. On June 1, 2026, Abdalla’s representative released a statement confirming that she and her fiancé, Jake Short (29), had called off their wedding plans and parted ways after five years together.

The former couple, who initially met and fell in love on the set of the 2022 film S*x Appeal, released a joint statement requesting privacy while asserting that they remained on “friendly terms.”

However, right after the breakup news broke, the internet did what the internet does best: it dug up old clips. A resurfaced podcast episode from 2024 featured Short making a highly debated, less-than-respectful joke about Abdalla, which immediately gave fans the major “ick” and had them practically cheering for her newfound singlehood.

Moving On ‘Off Campus’: Enter Josh Heuston

It didn’t take long for the 26-year-old actress to find happiness again. While her character, Allie Hayes, commands the screen on Prime Video’s mega-hit adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series, it’s her off-screen dynamic with Australian model-turned-actor Josh Heuston that has everyone talking.

Though their characters don’t share an overwhelming amount of screen time in the initial episodes, the cast’s extensive promotional tours built a rock-solid foundation between the two.

The definitive proof came this week when photos surfaced of the duo in Paris. Looking effortlessly chic, the pair were captured sharing a sweet embrace outside a Parisian boutique. Heuston later fueled the fire himself by sharing a cozy behind-the-scenes flight photo of the two sitting together on his Instagram grid.

How the Fandom is Reacting

As expected, Off Campus stans are absolutely losing their minds, with comments like “I love this way too much for her” and “They are quite literally a super-hot couple” dominating X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok.

The excitement is doubled by the fact that Prime Video recently greenlit Season 2 of the hit series, which is set to pivot the main storyline to focus heavily on Abdalla’s character. This means fans are going to be seeing a lot more of Mika on their screens over the next year—and if we are lucky, a lot more of Josh on her red carpets.

Neither Abdalla nor Heuston have explicitly commented on their relationship status on their main feeds just yet, choosing to let their gorgeous Parisian candids do the talking.
