The Ongoing Homicide Investigation and the Main Suspect
The circumstances surrounding the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner are being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Robbery Homicide Division. Authorities responded to a medical aid call at the couple’s Brentwood home on Sunday afternoon and reportedly discovered both victims suffering from knife wounds.
While the LAPD has not yet officially named a suspect or made an arrest, sources like PEOPLE have confirmed that the main suspect is their son, Nick Reiner. Reports indicate that it was the couple’s daughter, Romy, who tragically discovered the bodies.
Nick Reiner is known to have openly struggled with drug addiction and periods of homelessness for years, experiences which he co-wrote about in his father’s 2015 film, Being Charlie. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to establish the full details and potential motive behind the apparent homicide.
