American martial artist and film star Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86, his family confirmed on March 20, 2026. He had been hospitalized in Kaua‘i, Hawaii, after a sudden medical emergency and passed away peacefully with his loved ones at his side.

The news marks the end of a storied career that spanned nearly six decades and made him one of the most recognizable action figures in Hollywood history. He appeared in classic action features such as The Delta Force and Missing in Action and became a household name for his starring role as Cordell Walker in Walker, Texas Range.

What Was the Cause of Chuck Norris’ Death?

Chuck Norris’ loved ones described his death as sudden and said he was surrounded by family at the time. The statement did not provide a specific cause of death, noting only that the circumstances would remain private so far.

In their message, the Norris family emphasized his personal legacy: “While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace”.

They highlighted his life lived with “faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved”, and expressed gratitude for the support from fans around the world.

In 2017, a rumor circulated that the actor had heart problems, and many fans have been wondering if his cause of death was related to a heart attack, but no source has confirmed this.
