From sharing screen time in Big Daddy to sharing a title card on Disney’s The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, their childhoods were identical by design.
However, as the twin brothers celebrate their birthday today, their adult lives showcase two artists who forged radically different paths to personal fulfillment.

Shared Beginnings, Shared Hiatus
For the first eighteen years of their lives, the Sprouse brothers operated as a package deal. They shared roles in television shows like Grace Under Fire, split film duties on Adam Sandler comedies, and spent their teenage years living on a studio lot.
When their Disney contract concluded in 2011, both brothers made a joint decision to leave Hollywood behind and attend New York University. That academic pivot marked the final chapter of their shared brand—and the beginning of their individual journeys.
Cole: The Hollywood Spotlight and Fine Art
Cole chose the path of the traditional, multi-hyphenate entertainer:
- Television Lead: He embraced prime-time drama, leading CW’s Riverdale for over six seasons as Jughead Jones.
- Feature Films: He focused on cinematic acting, headlining theatrical releases like Five Feet Apart and quirky indie projects.
- Visual Arts: He built an established career as an editorial fashion photographer, working with international brands and magazines.
Dylan: Entrepreneurship, Genre Cinema, and Family
Dylan pursued a more eclectic, passion-driven lifestyle away from mainstream studio pressures:
- Business Venture: Merging his interest in video games and historical brewing, Dylan co-founded All-Wise Meadery in Brooklyn, serving as master mead-maker for years.
- Cult & Voice Acting: Dylan gravitated toward video game voiceover work (including major gaming franchises) and indie films such as Beautiful Disaster and The Curse of Turandot.
- Married Life: Dylan prioritized personal milestones, marrying Hungarian supermodel Barbara Palvin in 2023 and expanding his family.
Unbreakable Bond
Despite pursuing completely different industries and lifestyles, the brothers remain as close as ever, often supporting each other’s premieres and poking fun at one another online.
Cole and Dylan Sprouse proved that twin child stars don’t have to stay in a pre-packaged box—they can carve out two distinct, highly successful lives on their own terms. Happy Birthday to both!
