Batman remains one of the most sought-after roles in film, and with every reboot or universe shift, the spotlight turns to who will be the next to step into Bruce Wayne’s shadow. Following decades of memorable portrayals, from brooding to bold, the mantle now awaits its next bearer. As rumors swirl and fan debates heat up, a number of actors are quietly or publicly being considered for the role.

Known for his roles in “Kick-Ass,” “Tenet,” and “Kraven the Hunter,” Aaron Taylor-Johnson has the physicality and versatility to embody both Bruce Wayne and Batman. He’s surely shown he can handle action-heavy roles. However, he would be lacking a bit of emotional depth, but it is nothing that can not be fixed.

Nicholas Hoult

Hoult was reportedly a contender for “The Batman,” and it’s easy to see why. His performances in “The Great” and “Mad Max: Fury Road” showcase his range, from sharp wit to raw emotion. He’d bring a youthful energy while still delivering the brooding intensity Batman demands. However, the fact that he is portraying Lex Luthor in the upcoming “Superman” picture by James Gunn lowers the chances to see him as Bruce Wayne.

Jamie Dornan

Penn Badgley is no stranger to playing morally ambiguous characters. His experience portraying internal conflict and obsession in “You” could translate perfectly to Batman’s haunted psyche. Plus, he could bring a chilling calmness to the role, making his Batman feel genuinely intimidating and calculating.

Dev Patel

After becoming an A-lister thanks to “Slumdog Millionaire,” Patel has been steadily building an impressive filmography, proven by the quality of pictures like “Lion” and “The Green Knight.” His ability to portray introspection and inner turmoil makes him a compelling choice. Casting him would also offer a fresh and inclusive perspective while retaining the character’s gravitas.
