Award Season Kicks Off: The Astra Film Awards Nominees Are Here

The Hollywood Creative Alliance (HCA) announced the nominees for the 2025 Astra Film Awards this morning, showcasing a fiercely competitive field led by three powerhouse films: Ryan Coogler’s intense drama, Sinners, the highly anticipated musical sequel, Wicked: For Good, and Paul Thomas Anderson’s hit thriller, One Battle After Another.

The 2025 ceremony, which will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026, in Los Angeles, is also notable for the HCA’s significant restructuring, formally splitting the main competitive categories into Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.
