“Beauty in Black” is a new series by Tyler Perry that has arrived in the streaming catalog this morning and is currently one of the most entertaining options, not only for its performances but also for its incredible story.
This drama marks Perry’s first foray into series production under his multi-year deal with Netflix, which he signed at the end of 2023 after the success of previous projects like A Fall from Grace and A Jazzman’s Blues.
Taylor Polidore Williams and Crystle Stewart star in the first season as Kimmie and Mallory, two women from opposite walks of life who come into contact. Check out if the TV show will have a second installment…
Will Beauty in Black get a sequel on Netflix?
Yes! Although Tyler Perry and Netflix have not exactly confirmed the second season, Tudum reported that the drama will have a second part, meaning there will be more story to explore and the ending is not near.
It’s still a bit early to know when it will debut in the streaming platform’s catalog, as the first batch premiered on October 24. The creator spoke with the site about the second season and said:
“I don’t think anybody’s going to be able to figure out where it’s going and how that rise of power happens with Kimmie. It’s going to be mind-blowing for people. Like, ‘Wait a minute, how does she get into power?“.
On the other hand, he also spoke about the agreement he has with the giant and how the new series has been received, which tells the story of a woman fighting to survive and another who runs a successful business. There he said:
“I was told many times over many years that Black entertainment doesn’t travel throughout the world. So, to have Netflix continue to disprove that over and over with everything I’ve put on the platform has been phenomenal“.
