Bridgerton is about to premiere its third season, which will feature Penelope Featherington and Colin as protagonists, two characters who have been quite recurring in previous editions of the Netflix series.
The dramatic story portrays the wealth, lust and betrayal that unfold in England’s Regency era, seen through the eyes of a powerful aristocratic family, as love unexpectedly comes knocking on their door.
Created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes, the TV show has been reaping great success in recent years, so it has been confirmed that there will be more adaptations of the books, which total eight in all.
Who will be starring in the next seasons of Bridgerton?
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, it is believed that Eloise (played by Claudia Jessie) will be the protagonist of the fourth season of Bridgerton, whose love interest has been hinted at in the successful Netflix romantic series.
There have been some changes in the novel and in the series, so it’s not a 100 percent faithful adaptation, but one thing that won’t change is that Eloise’s love interest will be Sir Phillip Crane, played by Chris Fulton.
He first appeared in the first season, as the brother of George Crane and a love interest of Marina. Meanwhile, in the second edition, he appears when Colin (played by Luke Newton) visits her for the last time.
Although the third book of the saga written by Julia Quinn corresponds to Benedict’s love story, everything indicates that Luke Thompson‘s character will have to wait until the fifth season to take the lead.
Jess Brownell, the showrunner of the show, spoke at a recent red carpet event and although he remained quite reserved, he provided some details, saying, “I can tell you that I know who it will be. We are in the middle of writing it right now”.
