Speaking with GQ, the actor reflected on how he shifted away from calculating his career moves in favor of chasing intrigue—resulting in a seamless sprint between three major feature projects: Lynne Ramsay’s Die, My Love, A24’s The Drama (co-starring Zendaya), and the crime thriller Primetime.

“I Don’t Care About Doing Big Movies or Leads”

In the interview, Pattinson explained that his post-strike strategy was born out of a desire for artistic freedom rather than chasing traditional blockbuster status:

“I just changed my mindset, going, ‘I don’t care about doing big movies or leads. I’m just going to do stuff I find interesting.’ And then somehow, I don’t understand how the scheduling actually even worked out, because I literally left Die My Love and flew to The Drama. I finished that and flew to Primetime basically the same day. I was kind of producing [Primetime] as well. We were prepping four films at the same time. But I think it’s worked out. At the end of this, I’m definitely taking a vacation.”

Flying From Set to Set

The actor’s relentless slate illustrates just how in-demand he has become among premier auteurs and indie studios alike:

  • Die, My Love: Directed by Lynne Ramsay and co-starring Jennifer Lawrence, the dark comedy-drama wrapped after an intense shoot that Pattinson described as both artistically challenging and emotionally raw.
  • The Drama: Immediately after wrapping Ramsay’s film, Pattinson boarded a flight to set for Kristoffer Borgli’s romance thriller alongside Zendaya, stepping straight into another demanding co-starring role.
