Bill Skarsgård, known for his versatility as an actor, has gained significant recognition for his roles as villains and monsters, particularly for his portrayal of Pennywise in “It” and soon as Nosferatu.

The remake directed by Robert Eggers (The Witch and The Northman) is one of the most anticipated horror titles of the year, especially due to the high expectations of fans of the 1922 classic, which was starred by Max Schreck.

The Swedish star has been chosen to bring the vampire to life in the new version, all thanks to his ability to transform his appearance and behavior to adapt to his characters. He confessed that it has been the most disturbing role for him so far.

The iconic Swedish actor, known for portraying a wide array of villains and monsters on the big screen, spoke with director Robert Eggersfor AnOther magazine and confessed that Nosferatu scared him quite a bit.

“I’ve never been more terrified of a role and probably won’t be again. The whole journey was so intense. Once you start channelling something that’s not you, you feel like a vessel“, Bill Skarsgård confessed.

Without a doubt, stepping into the shoes of the mythical vampire has traumatized him a bit, raising high expectations for the new adaptation of the horror film, especially due to the star-studded cast.

Before being cast as Nosferatu, the actor was set to play Thomas Hutter. During the talk, he discussed how the change came about, as he thought he wouldn’t make the cast and really wanted to work with Robert. There, he said:

“I heard you ended up casting Nick Hoult as Hutter. At that point I was like, I’m done, it’s over. I’ll have to forget about Rob, forget about this potential collaboration. Just move on. Best of luck to him. When you reached out about the Count Orlok role, I was in complete shock. And utterly terrified … but also excited. It didn’t make any sense to me at all“.
