The 2025 Oscars will introduce a new and exciting format: rotating hosts. Instead of having a single presenter for the entire ceremony, several famous artists will take turns leading different segments of the event.

The Academy made this decision after Jimmy Kimmel‘s multiple stints as host and his recent decision not to return for the next awards show. This is understandable, given that he has been the designated host for nearly 4 years.

The goal of this initiative is to bring dynamism to the anticipated night, making each segment feel fresh and unique with different hosts. Additionally, it could attract fans of specific celebrities, thereby increasing the overall audience

Who could be the rotating hosts at the 2025 Oscars?

Among the celebrities rumored to participate in this rotating host format are Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who have gained much popularity for their on-screen chemistry, especially after their collaboration in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Although their participation has not yet been officially confirmed, their inclusion could attract a massive audience. Other names mentioned include Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, known for her humor at the Golden Globes, and Dwayne Johnson.

The Rock has been contacted multiple times over the years but has declined to be part of the ceremony as a host for various reasons. Some time ago, there was also talk of Kevin Hart and Chris Rock hosting, but they are no longer in the running.

On the other hand, Deadline reported that John Mulaney was also offered to host the ceremony but declined due to a busy schedule. In early 2025, he will launch his own talk show for Netflix.
