After appearing in “Sex Education,” Simone Ashley gained worldwide fame as Kate Sharma in <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a>’s smash hit “Bridgerton.” As her character, she not only captivated Anthony’s heart but also millions of fans of the series. However, she is also ready to move onto new heights in her career.



Ashley, 29, told Porter Magazine that while she feels “so grateful” for her role in <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/bridgerton">Bridgerton</a>, she is also “excited” to forge her own path and “not be defined by one role,” a challenge that she thinks “a lot of actors who have been part of a big franchise go through.”

Ashley stars and executive produces “Picture This,” a Prime Video rom-com which is set to come out later this year. She plays Pia, a woman who, while attending her sister’s engagement party, discovers that she will meet the love of her life among her next five dates (at least, according to a spiritual guru).

Alongside Ashley, “After” star Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Luke Fetherston also appear. Ashley told Porter that the movie “is like an Indian Bridget Jones.” She also said that “it’s the first time I’ve seen an Indian girl as the lead in this kind of genre. Yes, there’s cultural specificity but never once did we stereotype my heritage or Indian traditions – everyone can watch this and feel a kinship to the character”.



<h3>This Tempting Madness (thriller) | TBD</h3>



She will also star in “This Tempting Madness,” a psychological thriller indie directed by Jennifer E. Montgomery, from her script written with husband Andrew M. Davis. It also serves as Montgomery’s directorial debut.



According to Deadline, the movie follows a young woman (Ashley) who awakens from a coma injured with her memory fractured, and her husband arrested. But as she puts together the pieces of her past, she starts to question her own actions — and her perception of reality.

Speaking to Porter, Ashley revealed that the story is “dark,” and that, at first, she didn’t think she was going to get cast because she wasn’t white. “This was an independent movie and I was so grateful to the producers and to the director – it didn’t matter where I was from; I was just the right actor for the role,” she said.



<h3>F1 Movie with Brad Pitt | June 27, 2025</h3>



Simone Ashley joined the cast of <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies/all-we-know-about-brad-pitt-f1-movie">“F1,” the upcoming movie about Formula 1</a>. She will be acting opposite Brad Pitt, who is also a producer, Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Sarah Niles. Some F1 pilots, such as Lewis Hamilton, will also appear in the film.

The film will be released on June 27, 2025 in the US, distributed by Warner Bros. The movie follows Pitt as a retired driver who is hired to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua Pearce (Idris) on the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP).



<h3>‘The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland’ | TBD</h3>



Ashley will also lend her voice for the upcoming animated musical “The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland.” She will star alongside Emilia Clarke and Gerard Butler. It’s being distributed by Universal Pictures.

The movie is based on Carys Bexington’s bestselling book which mashed up two classic stories: Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” and Clement Clarke Moore’s poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas” (also known as “A Visit From St Nicholas”).



<h3>Season 4 of Bridgerton | TBD</h3>



And, of course, while Ashley is ready to explore all genres, she is also keen to return as Kate for another season of Bridgerton. She told the press in June 2024 that she and <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/jonathan-bailey">Jonathan Bailey</a>, who plays Anthony, “adore” their characters and “their relationship and what they mean for the show.”

She also revealed that both actors will “do all we can with our schedules to make it work so that we can, hopefully.” However, it’s not set in stone, and it would also depend on other factors, explained by showrunner Jess Brownell. “It’ll be dependent on how much story the main couples take up, and whether there is story room. It will be dependent on whether the actors are available,” she told Variety.

Season 3 of <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/bridgerton">Bridgerton</a> has finally come to an end with an epic finale that left many questions open, such as what <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix/bridgerton-who-will-francesca-marry-in-the-series-book-spoilers">will happen next to Francesca</a>, Benedict, Eloise and more… Including Anthony and Kate, played by Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley. Will they come back for the next season of the period drama?



The <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a> series has a unique format in which each season follows a different Bridgerton sibling’s love story, which is the same format of the novels by Julia Quinn (which the show is based on). However, this also has been somewhat of a problem for the series, as fans want to keep watching more of its characters, even after their “happy ever after.”

But (spoilers!) their characters left for India before the finale, raising questions about their return for Season 4. Here’s what the actors and showrunner have said.



<h2>Simone Ashley says she and Jonathan Bailey want to come back for Season 4</h2>



During a press meeting at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival on Saturday, June 15, Ashley told reporters, “I really hope so.” She added that both her and Bailey “adore” their characters, as well as “their relationship and what they mean for the show,” saying that they both will “do all we can with our schedules to make it work so that we can, hopefully.”

Meanwhile, Bailey hasn’t confirmed if he will return to Season 4, but he has expressed his desire to keep coming back to Bridgerton. “I look forward to supporting the rest of the family and the stories that go forward because if there is one thing I know about the beloved world is that you want to see them through and people invest their love and their time, and it means so much to so many people. So, yeah, me and Tony (Anthony) will be together for a while,” he told BAFTA.



However, it’s true that both of them have been busy. Ashley has two upcoming movies: the rom-com “Picture This” and “This Tempting Madness,” a psychological thriller. Meanwhile, Bailey will appear in the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies/wicked-everything-to-know-about-the-upcoming-musical-with-ariana-grande-20240202-SPEN-4162.html">highly anticipated film adaptation of “Wicked”</a> this November as Fieyro, and he is expected to be nominated for an Emmy for his role in “Fellow Travelers.” He filmed the latter alongside Season 3 of Bridgerton, saying that it was “wild,” traveling from London to Canada to be able to do so.



<h2>Showrunner Jess Brownell says that she also hopes for a Kanthony return</h2>



In that same spirit, Bridgerton’s showrunner Jess Brownell told Variety that she “absolutely” hopes to see more of Kate and Anthony, but “it’ll be dependent on a lot of factors. It’ll be dependent on how much story the main couples take up, and whether there is story room. It will be dependent on whether the actors are available.”

She added that the team tries to be “very respectful of our actors in terms of letting them go off and do other things,” but that “works perfectly” for the series, “because of the nature of the show shifting focus.”
