What could be better than a witch movie? Amazingly, it’s close to outshining <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/Dakota-Johnson">Dakota Johnson</a>‘s recently released drama “Am I Ok?”, which has been praised by both critics and the public. Additionally, “Practical Magic” is holding its own against “Dune: Part Two,” which has remained the top contender since its addition to the catalog. The <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/comedy">comedy</a> revolves around sisters Sally and Gillian, who come from a lineage of witches cursed so that every man they love will die tragically. Both experience this spell firsthand and must find a way to break it. In addition to the leads, the production features stunning performances from Goran Visnjic, Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, Aidan Quinn, and more. Although it was a box office failure, earning $68.3 million against a $75 million budget, it gained a cult following and is often regarded as one of the best films on the topics of magic and esotericism.

They just don’t make witch movies like “Practical Magic” anymore. Warner Bros. producers seem to understand this better than anyone, as they have announced a sequel is officially in the works, 26 years after the first film.



The original plot revolves around sisters Sally and Gillian, two witches who come from a lineage of women plagued by the tragic deaths of the men they loved throughout history, all due to a curse cast by one of their ancestors. The girls reside with their witch aunts, but Sally, more rebellious than Gilliam, is determined to break away from them to be with the love of her life.



Despite being a commercial failure, earning less than its $75 million budget, it’s evident that the same fate won’t happen to the second installment, given the original movie’s cult following. Of course, this depends on whether <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/sandra-bullock">Sandra Bullock</a> and <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/nicole-kidman">Nicole Kidman</a> will reprise their roles as the Owens sisters. However, it is still left to know which part will they take in the upcoming tale. Since the second movie will probably focus on the daughters of Sally, who were introduced to us in the first title, it’s quite probable that the stars will return in supporting roles. Kidman spoke on the topic, but was reluctant to reveal any plot points:



“Yes I will be in it. And Sandy will be in it. And that’s that,” she told People. “There’s a lot more to tell, which is why we go, ‘OK, this is kind of interesting now to be able to do this.’ [We] found a way in.”



A potential release date for the sequel has not been announced yet, but one potential obstacle to it hitting theaters soon could be their schedules. While Sandra Bullock has only one movie on the horizon, Nicole Kidman is currently committed to nine projects, spanning both film and television.
